  • Erie Canal

    Eire Canal is located in the northwest of State of New York in USA. It starts from Buffalo on the bank of Erie Lake, passed through Mohawk valley and ends at Albany along Hudson River, with total length of 581km, width of 12m and depth of 1.2m. The construction was commenced in 1817 and completed in 1825. The Canal was subjected to expansion for several times. After renovation in 1909, it was 544km in width, 45m in width and 3.6m in depth. It has been the main waterway in navigable canal system in State of New York and has greatly contributed to development of New York City as well as the economic development in Middle West of USA.
